Undecided

Lucy hasn't decided exactly how she feels about the arrival of her baby brothers. This morning she said, "I love babies." When I mentioned her brothers, she thought for a minute and then said, "I meant OTHER babies." Hmmmmm.....

GADZOOKS!

After they had breakfast with Santa, Andy and Lucy went to the Bird Sanctuary next to the church to hunt for Gadzooks. Gadzooks is the abominable snowman in the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer cartoon. In the cartoon, Yukon Cornelius (who is looking for the abominable snowman) frequently says, "Gadzooks!" And so it is now the snowman's name.

They didn't find him, or the trolls that live under any of these bridges. Better luck next time.

SANTA!

The list has evolved slightly, but currently includes the following: princess dolls ("all of them"), a fish tank, and a helmet. Just a helmet. Nothing fun to go with it, no scooter, no bike. Just a helmet.

Bethlehem

Our church does a re-creation of what life was like when Jesus was born in Bethlehem - including animals, shops, food and Baby Jesus himself. Baby Jesus was crying when Lucy and Andy were there, and Lucy is still very concerned about him.

"Wait, you mean I can eat these cookies?" And then she went back again, and again, and again...
Making tents.
More snacks.

Know your audience

If you ever happen to be hired to dress as Spiderman for a 4 year-old's birthday party, consider this piece of friendly advice: do not lurk silently in the background, crawling around on all fours like a burglar, while friendly Batman waves and smiles at the guests. It freaks kids out.

Halloween Revisited

These were two of our favorite Halloween pictures:

Waiting.....

I'm not so sure that any of these kids were willing participants in this picture.

Princesses on Ice

Daddy and I went to see the princess ice skating show. I loved it all, but was REALLY excited to see the dwarfs.

Jack-O-Lanterns!

I helped Daddy pick out two of the pumpkins we could find. Here I am serving as creative director on the design of our jack-o-lanterns.
I did NOT like Daddy's faces. They were too scary - so I offered him some constructive criticism on how he might make them more happy.

I wouldn't help Mommy scoop out the insides. I told her that I was scared of the orange part.

This song NEVER gets old.

Daddy might disagree with me, though.

I LOVE Halloween

I have been talking about it for at least a month, planning my costume and changing my mind about my costume several times. Here are the finalists - luckily I had several opportunities to wear them, so I got to mix it up a bit.
Option Number 1: The Little Mermaid
I wore this to a trick or treat party at my school and
then to a party and parade at school on Monday.
Option Number 2: Supergirl
This was a late addition - I actually borrowed this from my cousin Macy to wear to a superhero party in November, and loved it so much it immediately went to the top of my list. I wore it to school on Friday, to my friend Luke's Halloween party Saturday night, and around the house A LOT. I fly around the house, rescuing people in trouble with hugs - Mommy, Daddy and Reba have all been in some pretty precarious predicaments lately.

And finally, the witch. It started out as the front runner, and I wore it around the house a lot. I was way into spooking people early on. Much to Mommy and Daddy's dismay, the witch didn't make it out of the house.

Big News

I am going to be a big sister to twins, just like my favorite cartoon heroine, Dora the Explorer. I think that our new babies will be a lot like hers, which is why I have been calling them the "Super Babies." They should be here after Christmas!

Hello again.

We've been busy, and kind of forgot about the blog for a while. A lot has changed since the last time we talked, so here are a few of my (current) favorite things:

I had a birthday and, more importantly, a birthday party. It was awesome. There is no doubt in my mind that a birthday party is the most fun you can have, whether it's yours or someone else's.

For my birthday, I got a bounce house. While I sometimes enjoy bouncing by myself, it's much better with company.

I love singing - to myself, my dolls, Mommy and Daddy...anyone that will listen. I sometimes sing even when no one is listening. (This is the song from Sleeping Beauty.)

Speaking of Sleeping Beauty, I love princesses. But really, who doesn't? (This video is several months old, so my stories have gotten much more involved - Princess Daddy usually plays with his friend, Princess Lucy these days. They like to "play toys.")

I love baby dolls. This is the cast of characters who sleeps with me every night, all together, up at the top of the bed (L-R:Dopey, Baby Miss Iva-she's naked and doesn't have any clothes which is very awkward because she was named after my teacher, Big Baby, Pocket Baby, Baby Sasha, and Dolly). I will not sleep unless everyone is where they are supposed to be.

Hide and seek. Best game ever.

And last, but definitely not least, I love accessories. Hats, fancy shoes, sunglasses, purses, "bra-ce-lets," rings-you name it, and I will wear it.
